Growing up in the northwest of England from a working-class background in the 1980’s. As a family, we would go on British holidays in the summer. Often driving for what seemed like hours to a seaside town and staying in static caravans. We would spend our time going to the beach and swimming in the sea, spend all day in a leisure pool or the arcades & funfairs and at night spend time in the caravan club house or the local pub with my parents.  

I often reminisce about the time we had at these places, so influenced by nostalgia, ‘is this this the place we used to know’ is a project about selected seaside towns. Individually framed & composed, a small collective of subjective observations of social impact and the ordinary banal surroundings including their architectural features.
